The Wound Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) role involves a comprehensive approach to wound management, requiring both advanced clinical knowledge and a compassionate bedside manner. Candidates with a history of working in wound care, preferably with an active Wisconsin State License and DEA registration, are encouraged to apply. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule, free from weekend or on-call responsibilities, enabling an excellent work-life balance.

The assignment is structured as a 12-month initial contract, with the potential for ongoing employment based on performance and organizational needs. The Wound Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) will be responsible for managing a clinic census of approximately 12-15 patients per day, ensuring thorough assessment, treatment, and follow-up for each individual under their care.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in advanced wound management techniques, including but not limited to assessment, cleansing, irrigation, dressing application, wound cultures, debridement, and application of advanced therapies such as Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) and Cellular and Tissue-Based Products (CTPs). The role also includes the responsibility to order and interpret diagnostic tests, monitor healing progress, and address underlying factors such as infection, circulation, or nutritional deficits that may impact wound healing.
