Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Summary
The Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive care focused on the unique needs of women, managing a spectrum of obstetric and gynecological health concerns. This role involves conducting assessments, diagnosing and treating both acute and chronic OB-GYN conditions, performing preventive screenings, and carrying out office-based procedures. The Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, prescribes medications, and educates patients on various aspects of women's health. Maintaining meticulous documentation and adherence to clinical standards are also key elements of this position. The full-time role is based at JBSA Lackland AFB, offering a consistent weekday schedule ideal for work-life balance. Duties & Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage acute, chronic, and preventive OB-GYN conditions for women throughout the lifespan.
- Develop individualized, evidence-based care plans addressing specific patient needs.
- Perform clinical procedures, including well-woman exams, prenatal and postpartum care, pelvic exams, contraceptive management (such as IUD and Nexplanon insertions), STI screening and counseling, colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, and cervical cancer screening.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care and ensure effective coordination of referrals, test results, and follow-up.
- Document clinical findings accurately and ensure compliance with clinical and organizational standards.
- Prescribe appropriate medications and therapies within the scope of practice and established guidelines.
- Educate patients on women's health, disease prevention, reproductive health, treatment options, and healthy lifestyle choices through various communication methods.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review activities, and staff education programs to maintain high clinical standards.
- Support organizational goals and initiatives through active participation and collaboration.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse Practitioner.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience within the Family Health specialty, with a focus on women's health preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods; manual dexterity and visual acuity required; ability to lift or assist with up to 25 pounds.
