Web Performance Engineer - Summary
- Optimize frontend website performance to improve speed, user experience, and business outcomes.
- Utilize Core Web Vitals analytics, including Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Interaction to Next Paint (INP), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS).
- Leverage leading web performance audit tools and collaborate with talented engineering teams.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Analyze and enhance website performance using Core Web Vitals metrics.
- Identify and resolve issues related to rendering, JavaScript execution, network latency, caching strategies, image optimization, and browser compatibility.
- Conduct comprehensive performance audits utilizing Lighthouse, Chrome DevTools, WebPageTest, PageSpeed Insights, CrUX, and Real User Monitoring (RUM) tools.
- Partner with React.js and Next.js teams to drive optimization of rendering workflows, bundle size, code splitting, caching, and asset delivery.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to embed performance best practices into the full software development lifecycle.
- Communicate complex technical findings and recommendations effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay current with the latest industry trends, technologies, and standards related to web performance.
- Document processes, solutions, and performance improvements to ensure knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications & Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in frontend engineering, including at least 3 years in web performance optimization.
- Proficiency in React.js, Next.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Comprehensive understanding of browser rendering processes, networking protocols, caching mechanisms, Content Delivery Networks (CDN), and HTTP protocols.
- Hands-on experience with performance auditing tools such as Lighthouse, Chrome DevTools, WebPageTest, PageSpeed Insights, CrUX, RUM, mPulse, or Dynatrace.
- Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills.
