Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) - Summary
- Responds to emergency calls for water, fire, and mold damage in residential settings.
- Performs mitigation work, including water extraction, demolition, and debris removal.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency water, fire, and mold damage situations.
- Extract water, remove damaged materials (such as drywall, flooring, cabinets), and dispose of debris safely.
- Set up, monitor, and take down drying equipment including air movers, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers.
- Take accurate moisture readings, map affected areas, and maintain detailed daily progress documentation.
- Explain the mitigation process to property owners and set realistic expectations.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in contaminated environments.
- Work collaboratively as part of a crew, ensuring efficient and thorough restoration.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies.
- Physical capability to lift and maneuver equipment weighing 50+ lbs.
- Comfort with working in confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics.
- Professional appearance and strong communication skills.
- For lead technicians: prior experience in water mitigation, restoration, or construction is required.
- IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) certification is highly preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Leadership skills and the ability to direct apprentices and communicate with distressed homeowners.
- For apprentice/assistant roles: a willingness to learn and the ability to follow direction in challenging environments.
