VMware Linux Systems Administrator - Summary
- Administer, monitor, and optimize VMware vSphere environments with vSAN, ensuring efficient VM provisioning, patch management, tuning, and regular upgrades.
- Provide comprehensive support and technical direction for Linux server environments, focusing on stability, security, and performance.
- Proactively monitor system health and performance metrics to preemptively address potential issues and maintain system resilience.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in virtualization and enterprise storage technologies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain the integrity and operational stability of core IT infrastructure.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of VMware infrastructure, including virtual machine lifecycle, patching schedules, and system upgrades.
- Perform hands-on Linux system administration tasks, such as configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Monitor and report on system performance, ensuring uptime and rapid issue resolution.
- Collaborate with technical teams to design and implement solutions that enhance infrastructure efficiency and security.
- Lead and participate in projects involving enterprise storage management, particularly with NetApp FAS/AFF hardware arrays and associated technologies.
- Utilize Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and Red Hat Satellite to automate and streamline system administration tasks.
- Serve as a technical resource for complex virtualization and storage issues, offering guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Maintain thorough documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience managing VMware vSphere environments with vSAN.
- 3 to 5 years of Linux system administration experience in enterprise settings.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in enterprise storage management, specifically with NetApp FAS/AFF hardware arrays.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure Insights and Storage Workload Security solutions.
- Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and Red Hat Satellite is highly desirable.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship requirements.
