Veterinary Medical Director (DVM) OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Veterinary Medical Director (DVM) for a Full-time position at our small animal clinic in Chandler, AZ. This leadership role is an exceptional opportunity for a visionary veterinarian who is passionate about providing outstanding veterinary medicine while inspiring and guiding a team of dedicated professionals. The Veterinary Medical Director (DVM) will play a pivotal role in the clinic’s growth, development, and provision of high-quality care to companion animals in the Chandler, AZ community.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee all medical operations within the clinic, upholding the highest standards of veterinary medicine.
- Mentor and support veterinary associates, veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff, fostering professional growth and a collaborative work environment.
- Develop, implement, and maintain clinical protocols and policies to ensure efficient, effective, and compassionate patient care.
- Perform a variety of surgical and medical procedures, demonstrating proficiency and commitment to best practices in veterinary medicine.
- Participate in strategic planning with the leadership team, contributing insights to clinic operations, workflow, and service offerings.
- Help design and revamp the clinic’s physical space, contributing to facility improvements and ensuring an optimal environment for patients, clients, and staff.
- Oversee daily caseloads, typically managing 15-20 cases per day, and collaborate with a full clinical and support team, including relay veterinarians as needed.
- Support and promote a positive work/life balance for the entire team, integrating time for administrative leadership duties and staff development.
- Develop and implement effective marketing plans to enhance the clinic’s outreach and community presence in Chandler, AZ.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree required.
- Active Arizona (AZ) veterinary license in good standing.
- Current DEA registration.
- Demonstrated proficiency in surgical procedures and general practice veterinary medicine.
- Proven ability to provide mentorship, training, and leadership to veterinary staff.
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset and capacity for clinic growth and development.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
