This position also emphasizes the importance of designing for complex business logic and regulatory requirements, particularly within fields such as government services, healthcare, or finance. Your experience with AI/ML interfaces and explainable AI (XAI) principles will be highly valued, as you will be tasked with creating user interfaces that effectively facilitate human-AI interaction and present complex data in clear, impactful visual formats. Knowledge of accessibility standards, such as WCAG, is essential to ensure inclusive and universally accessible design solutions.

UX Designer - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities

- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Code for America, to ensure design alignment with organizational objectives and user needs.
- Facilitate discovery workshops, feedback sessions, and participate in agile sprint planning processes.
- Design user interfaces for AI/ML-driven systems, focusing on explainable AI (XAI) and human-AI interaction.
- Create clear and concise data visualizations to communicate complex information effectively.
- Maintain expertise in accessibility guidelines, including WCAG, to deliver inclusive solutions.
- Support the design of eligibility determination systems or similar rule-based, data-intensive applications when applicable.

Qualifications & Requirements
- 11+ years of experience designing user interfaces and experiences for enterprise systems.
- Proficiency in wireframing, prototyping, and forming visual hierarchies using Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.
- Extensive experience collaborating with technical and non-technical teams to translate business needs into design solutions.
- Expertise in creating wireframes and prototypes that support agile development cycles, including transitions from sketches to high-fidelity visuals.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design.
- Experience designing user interfaces for systems with AI/ML components is highly desirable.
