As an Urgent Care Physician Assistant (PA-C), your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering direct patient care in an urgent care setting, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for a wide range of acute and non-acute conditions.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care and seamless patient experiences.
- Developing comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs, and providing ongoing management of treatment protocols.
- Serving as a clinical expert, offering patient education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and consultation services.
- Promoting continuous process improvement and cost-effective care management to optimize resource utilization.
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation and adherence to evidence-based clinical guidelines and protocols.
Education and Qualifications:
- Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Alternatively, graduates of a nationally accredited nursing school with a Bachelor’s in Nursing and a Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice Nursing are considered for Nurse Practitioner roles.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Physician Assistant in a primary care or emergency care environment is preferred.
Certifications and Licensure:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (required).
- Successful completion of a Board exam recognized by the Board of Medicine, with ongoing recertification as necessary.
- Active state license in Virginia and/or West Virginia.
- Active DEA registration for Virginia and/or West Virginia.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 120 days of hire, if required.
- Ongoing maintenance and proof of Continuing Medical Education (CME) as required by the Virginia Board of Medicine.
