Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) - Summary
- Contract opportunity for an experienced Urgent Care NP or PA
- Work across multiple urgent care facilities within a close geographic area
- Flexible scheduling with a focus on weekend, Monday, and Friday shifts
- Immediate start available; ongoing assignment
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an urgent care setting, managing a wide range of acute conditions and minor injuries
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat up to 30 patients per day, ensuring timely and effective care delivery
- Perform standard urgent care procedures, including but not limited to suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests as necessary
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive patient care
- Document all patient encounters accurately and promptly in the electronic health record
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, preventive care, and follow-up instructions
- Travel between urgent care sites as required, all within a 45-minute radius
- Adhere to all clinical protocols and regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in Connecticut
- Active DEA registration in Connecticut or willingness to transfer
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Board Certification preferred
- Ability to start as soon as credentialing is complete, with a target start date by September
- Willingness and ability to commute between multiple urgent care locations within a 45-minute drive
- Previous experience in urgent care or emergency medicine preferred but not required
