The Unified Communications Engineer (UC Engineer) plays a pivotal role in designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise-level unified communications platforms, with a primary focus on Cisco Webex solutions. In this Full-time Unified Communications Engineer role, you will be responsible for administering and engineering comprehensive cloud-based Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) and Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) platforms. The core platforms include Cisco Webex Calling, Webex Contact Center, and Webex Connect, managed through Cisco Control Hub. You will be tasked with the design, configuration, and ongoing support of critical communication services such as PSTN, auto attendants, IVRs, call queues, routing strategies, voicemail, skills-based routing, and digital communications channels. The Unified Communications Engineer will also develop and oversee enterprise dial plans, E911 compliance, and telephony policies, ensuring regulatory adherence and seamless operational consistency across the organization.
As a Unified Communications Engineer, you will be responsible for the continuous monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting of UC and Contact Center platforms to guarantee high availability, optimal performance, and superior call quality. This includes providing Tier 3 support for technical escalations, collaborating with Cisco TAC, telecommunications carriers, and third-party vendors to resolve complex issues and maintain service level agreements. The UC Engineer’s expertise will be instrumental in driving adoption, resolving challenges, and ensuring that the organization’s communication infrastructure can support its strategic goals and day-to-day operations.

Unified Communications Engineer - Summary- Lead the design, deployment, and support of enterprise cloud-based unified communications and contact center solutions.
- Administer Cisco Webex Calling, Webex Contact Center, and Webex Connect through Cisco Control Hub.
- Support healthcare technology and communication initiatives by ensuring high-performing, secure, and scalable digital collaboration platforms.
- Administer and engineer enterprise cloud-based unified communications platforms, including Cisco Webex Calling, Webex Contact Center, and Webex Connect.
- Design, configure, and maintain calling and contact center services, encompassing locations, licenses, PSTN, users, workspaces, auto attendants, IVRs, queues, routing strategies, voicemail, skills-based routing, and digital channels.
- Develop and manage dial plans, numbering strategies, E911 configurations, and telephony policies to guarantee compliance and consistency.
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize UC and Contact Center platforms for availability, performance, call quality, and adoption.
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues, providing Tier 3 support and escalation management in collaboration with Cisco TAC, carriers, and third-party vendors.

- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Certifications required: Cisco Certified Specialist – Collaboration Core (350-801 CLCOR), Cisco Webex Calling, and Webex Contact Center certifications.
- At least 5 years of experience supporting enterprise unified communications and/or contact center platforms, including UCaaS and CCaaS solutions.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on administration and engineering experience with Cisco Webex Calling and Webex Contact Center, including Control Hub configuration and operations.
- Proven ability to design, deploy, and support call routing, dial plans, IVRs, queues, skills-based routing, and digital channels.
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting complex UC and Contact Center issues, including call quality, connectivity, signaling, and provisioning in hybrid and cloud environments.
- Detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a passion for solving technical challenges.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
