The Unified Communications Engineer (UC Engineer) plays a pivotal role in designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise-level unified communications platforms, with a primary focus on Cisco Webex solutions. This expert-level position is essential for organizations in the healthcare technology and communications sector who rely on seamless, secure, and scalable digital collaboration services for both internal and external stakeholders. The Unified Communications Engineer ensures robust and compliant cloud-based communication systems, enabling organizations to operate efficiently and stay at the forefront of technology-driven collaboration.

In this Full-time Unified Communications Engineer role, you will be responsible for administering and engineering comprehensive cloud-based Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) and Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) platforms. The core platforms include Cisco Webex Calling, Webex Contact Center, and Webex Connect, managed through Cisco Control Hub. You will be tasked with the design, configuration, and ongoing support of critical communication services such as PSTN, auto attendants, IVRs, call queues, routing strategies, voicemail, skills-based routing, and digital communications channels. The Unified Communications Engineer will also develop and oversee enterprise dial plans, E911 compliance, and telephony policies, ensuring regulatory adherence and seamless operational consistency across the organization.

As a Unified Communications Engineer, you will be responsible for the continuous monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting of UC and Contact Center platforms to guarantee high availability, optimal performance, and superior call quality. This includes providing Tier 3 support for technical escalations, collaborating with Cisco TAC, telecommunications carriers, and third-party vendors to resolve complex issues and maintain service level agreements. The UC Engineer’s expertise will be instrumental in driving adoption, resolving challenges, and ensuring that the organization’s communication infrastructure can support its strategic goals and day-to-day operations.
