Trauma Critical Care Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments of trauma and critically ill patients.
- Participate in trauma team activations, resuscitations, and rapid response scenarios.
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and imaging.
- Initiate and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Perform procedures within the PA scope of practice, such as central line placements, arterial lines, chest tube insertions, and wound management.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
- Document all patient interactions, orders, and clinical findings in the electronic medical record system.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, procedures, and discharge instructions.
- Coordinate patient care transitions, including handoffs to other care teams and discharge planning.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical education sessions as required.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (PA-C).
- Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Licensure as a Physician Assistant in the applicable state.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
- Previous experience in trauma, emergency medicine, or critical care is preferred.
