Telemetry Nurse RN - Summary
As a Telemetry Nurse RN, you will deliver essential nursing care to patients who require continuous monitoring of cardiac and vital signs. Your expertise in interpreting electrocardiograms (EKGs/ECGs), managing emergency situations, and educating patients and families about cardiac health will be fundamental to this role. Duties & Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Administer cardiac and anticoagulant medications as prescribed, provide direct bedside care, and develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with complex medical needs.
- Emergency Response: Respond rapidly to acute, life-threatening cardiac events by utilizing advanced nursing interventions such as defibrillation, cardioversion, and other resuscitative measures. Remain calm and effective under pressure to support positive patient outcomes.
- Patient & Family Education: Educate patients and their families about heart health, medication regimens, lifestyle modifications, and post-discharge care to promote optimal recovery and prevent readmission.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cardiologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate effective patient care throughout the hospitalization process.
- Cardiac Monitoring: Continuously observe and record cardiac rhythms (EKGs/ECGs) and other vital signs such as blood pressure, oxygen saturation (SpO2), and respiratory rate using state-of-the-art telemetry equipment.
- Data Interpretation: Analyze and interpret cardiac data, promptly recognizing arrhythmias, ischemia, or other abnormalities. Communicate with physicians and the healthcare team to initiate timely interventions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, medication administration, and response to treatment in electronic medical records.
- Compliance: Follow all hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory guidelines to ensure the safety and confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Previous experience in telemetry, cardiac care, or acute care settings preferred
- Proficient in cardiac monitoring, EKG/ECG interpretation, and emergency response protocols
