Telemetry Nurse RN - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer medications, including cardiac and anticoagulant therapies, as prescribed.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms using specialized telemetry equipment.
- Analyze and interpret cardiac data (e.g., EKG/ECG readings) to detect abnormalities such as arrhythmias or ischemic changes.
- Respond to emergency situations, including life-threatening cardiac events, with appropriate nursing interventions (e.g., defibrillation, cardioversion).
- Create, update, and manage individualized care plans based on patient needs and medical protocols.
- Educate patients and their families about heart health, medication regimens, lifestyle adjustments, and post-discharge care instructions.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current and valid RN license in good standing.
- Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Prior experience in telemetry, cardiac, or critical care settings strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in the use of telemetry monitoring equipment and interpretation of EKG/ECG data.
