Telemetry Nurse RN - Summary
As a Telemetry Nurse RN, you will be responsible for the continuous monitoring and assessment of patients with acute cardiac conditions. This role is critical in ensuring patient safety through the timely recognition of subtle changes in cardiac rhythms, providing direct patient care, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Duties & Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Administer prescribed medications such as cardiac drugs and anticoagulants, provide direct bedside care, and manage individualized care plans for telemetry patients.
- Cardiac Monitoring: Continuously monitor electrocardiogram (EKG/ECG) tracings, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiration rates using specialized telemetry equipment.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to life-threatening cardiac events, including arrhythmias, by initiating appropriate interventions such as defibrillation or cardioversion.
- Data Interpretation: Analyze and interpret cardiac rhythm changes, identify early signs of arrhythmias, ischemia, or other abnormalities, and communicate findings to the healthcare team for timely intervention.
- Patient & Family Education: Educate patients and their families about heart health, medication regimens, lifestyle modifications, and post-discharge care to promote optimal recovery and prevent readmission.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cardiologists, respiratory therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough records of patient assessments, care interventions, medication administration, and patient responses.
- Adherence to Protocols: Follow established hospital policies, procedures, and evidence-based guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant care environment.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Previous experience in telemetry, cardiac, or critical care nursing preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring equipment and electronic medical records
