Telemetry Nurse RN - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed cardiac and anticoagulant medications accurately and in a timely manner.
- Deliver direct patient care, monitor progress, and revise care plans as needed.
- Continuously monitor heart rhythms (using EKG/ECG) and vital signs such as blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate.
- Interpret cardiac data to identify abnormalities including arrhythmias and ischemia, and promptly notify physicians for intervention.
- Respond to life-threatening cardiac events by initiating emergency interventions such as defibrillation or cardioversion.
- Educate patients and their families about heart health, medication management, discharge planning, and lifestyle changes.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, medication administration, and interventions in accordance with hospital policies and regulations.
- Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and quality assurance protocols to provide optimal care.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Experience in telemetry, cardiac care, or acute care settings is strongly preferred.
