Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications, including cardiac and anticoagulant agents, ensuring safe and accurate delivery according to established protocols.
- Provide direct patient care and manage individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s cardiac and medical needs.
- Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms (EKG/ECG) and other vital signs, such as blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate, using specialized telemetry equipment.
- Respond promptly to life-threatening cardiac events, performing emergency interventions such as defibrillation or cardioversion when indicated.
- Educate patients and their families about heart health, medication regimens, lifestyle modifications, and post-discharge care to promote recovery and prevent readmission.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and effective communication regarding patient status and treatment plans.
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in electronic health records, maintaining up-to-date and comprehensive clinical records.
- Identify and report cardiac abnormalities, such as arrhythmias or signs of ischemia, and promptly notify physicians for immediate intervention.
- Adhere to infection control practices, safety protocols, and all regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN); Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in telemetry, cardiac, or acute care settings is highly desirable.
