Telemetry Nurse RN - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer cardiac and anticoagulant medications as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosage and timely delivery.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient's specific cardiac needs.
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms (EKGs/ECGs) and vital signs such as blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate using specialized telemetry equipment.
- Interpret complex cardiac data, identifying arrhythmias, ischemia, and other abnormalities, and promptly notify physicians for timely intervention.
- Respond to life-threatening cardiac events, employing interventions like defibrillation, cardioversion, and other emergency response protocols.
- Educate patients and families on heart health, medications, lifestyle modifications, and post-discharge care to support recovery and prevent readmission.
- Work collaboratively with cardiologists, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary staff to coordinate comprehensive care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in good standing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Proven experience or training in telemetry or cardiac care nursing is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in EKG/ECG interpretation and familiarity with telemetry monitoring equipment.
- Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
