Telecommunications Technician (Telecom Technician) - Summary
As a Telecommunications Technician (Telecom Technician), you will serve as a technical specialist responsible for the design, installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of enterprise-level communication systems. This includes supporting video, voice, and data networks, and ensuring their optimal operation. You will work with cross-functional teams, oversee system implementation projects, and troubleshoot complex technical issues as they arise. Your expertise will directly impact the organization’s ability to communicate efficiently and securely, making you a key contributor to the organization’s overall mission.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise communication systems, including video, data, and voice networks.
- Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications hardware and software, ensuring systems are up-to-date and functioning as intended.
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of communication infrastructure, including troubleshooting and repairing issues as they arise.
- Support and administer Cisco Call Manager (CUCM) systems, including configuration, maintenance, and issue resolution.
- Test communication systems to ensure reliability, quality, and security.
- Collaborate with IT teams and end-users to identify needs and provide technical solutions that align with organizational goals.
- Document system configurations, maintenance activities, and technical procedures accurately for future reference and compliance.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in telecommunications to recommend improvements and optimizations.
- Manage multiple priorities effectively, working both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in designing, implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting voice, video, and data communication systems in an enterprise environment.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Collaboration or related communication technologies.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Cisco Call Manager (CUCM) administration, including configuration, maintenance, and issue resolution. Cisco Call Manager certification is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate technical information effectively to a variety of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and support ongoing maintenance and installation of communication systems.
