Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and consultative instructional support to students with visual impairments across multiple grade levels
- Adapt and modify classroom materials into accessible formats, including Braille, large print, tactile graphics, and digital resources
- Teach compensatory skills such as Braille literacy, utilization of assistive technology, and foundational concepts in orientation and mobility
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and collaborate on the development and implementation of personalized plans for each student
- Conduct assessments to determine the most effective learning media and technology for each student
- Provide ongoing guidance and training to general education teachers and paraprofessionals on strategies for supporting students with visual impairments
- Communicate regularly with families to ensure a supportive learning environment and effective progress monitoring

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a closely related field
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) as required by the state of California
- Experience in Braille instruction and knowledge of assistive technology are highly preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
