Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches as needed.
- Provide direct instruction using appropriate communication modalities, such as American Sign Language (ASL), oral communication, or cued speech, based on each student's needs.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to ensure accessibility for students with hearing impairments.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and other service providers to support student learning and inclusion.
- Facilitate communication between students and their peers, teachers, and family members, ensuring access to all school activities.
- Offer guidance and training to school staff on best practices for working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records as required by educational standards.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in deaf education.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Valid state certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH).
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication methods.
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting is preferred.
