Tax Accountant – Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely individual, corporate, and partnership income tax returns in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Handle general accounting duties, including preparation and review of general ledger (GL) entries and reconciliations.
- Calculate and prepare estimated federal and state income tax payments, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
- Conduct year-end accrual reviews and prepare tax provisions as needed for businesses and individual clients.
- Prepare and submit personal property tax filings, annual reports, intangible tax, and sales & use tax documentation for business clients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations, industry best practices, and changes in tax legislation affecting clients.
- Collaborate with internal team members to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality control across all tax filings and accounting tasks.
- Provide support during tax audits and assist with responses to tax authority inquiries as necessary.
- Uphold firm standards for confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all client and team interactions.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a public accounting or CPA firm environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is required.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and/or reviewing individual and business tax returns, with a strong attention to accuracy and compliance.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with FastTrack or similar tax preparation software is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage complex tax preparation assignments, including corporate tax returns.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- CPA license is not required for this Tax Accountant position.
