Tax AccountantARC Group is seeking a dedicated Tax Accountant for a full-time, remote position supporting a reputable CPA and tax consulting firm. Based in Miami, FL, this permanent opportunity is ideal for professionals with substantial experience in tax return preparation and general accounting within a public accounting or CPA firm environment. The Tax Accountant role is tailored for those with at least two recent years of consistent employment at the same CPA firm, emphasizing expertise in preparing individual, S-Corp, and C-Corp tax returns.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review individual, S-Corp, and C-Corp federal and state income tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Manage general accounting duties, including preparing general ledgers (GL), to support comprehensive tax preparation and reporting.
- Calculate and process estimated federal and state income tax payments, maintaining proper documentation and timelines.
- Conduct year-end accrual reviews and prepare required tax provisions for corporate clients and individuals.
- Prepare and file various personal property tax returns, as well as other tax filings, such as annual reports, intangible tax, and sales and use tax returns.
- Utilize industry-standard tax software (such as UltraTax, ADP, Drake, ProSystem, and Lacerte) for efficient and accurate tax document preparation.
- Minimum of two recent years of experience at the same public accounting or CPA firm; seasonal experience alone does not meet the requirement.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required for the Tax Accountant position.
- Demonstrated expertise in preparing S-Corp, C-Corp, and individual tax returns, including complex corporate returns.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as it applies to tax preparation and compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as commonly used tax preparation software.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently in a remote full-time environment.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is considered a plus for the Tax Accountant position.
