As part of the Infrastructure Services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that systems are secure, compliant, and well-documented, supporting both internal and external audit activities.
In this Systems Engineer role, you will engage with technology owners, audit staff, and security personnel to interpret and apply policies and procedures accurately. Your work will involve maintaining documentation repositories, developing and updating compliance procedures, and providing evidence to support audits. Experience with frameworks such as NIST 800-53, DISA Security requirements, CIS, HITRUST, and PCI is essential. You will also navigate tools such as Nessus, ACAS, Nexpose, and SQL databases to support compliance efforts.

Systems Engineer - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Mature and support the enterprise Compliance Program for Infrastructure Services.
- Interface with audit and security personnel to provide required policies, procedures, and device evidence.
- Collaborate with technology owners to implement audit requirements and maintain documentation accuracy.
- Interpret compliance policies and procedures for technical sensibility and accuracy.
- Manage documentation and evidence repositories for use during audit events, including automated scans and manual scripting.
- Develop, update, and maintain compliance policies and procedures aligned with CMS, ARS, HITRUST, SOC2, DISA, and other standards.
- Navigate DOD DISA resources such as the STIGS Document Library and STIG Viewer.
- Participate in discussions with leadership to communicate compliance program status.
- Advise on mitigation and remediation strategies and ensure corrective actions are documented.
- Perform hardware and software evaluations to maintain baseline integrity.
- Provide evidence and support for internal and external audits.
- Complete self-inspection checklists for compliance audits and infrastructure platform baselines.
- Gather and manage documentation to support periodic compliance audits.
- Use SQL databases for queries, expressions, and related tasks.
- Utilize tools like Excel for compliance tracking and reporting.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Four or more years of experience in design, implementation, administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting technology solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of information security principles, including risk assessment, threat/vulnerability management, incident response, and identity/access management.
- Experience with major operating systems and large-scale system implementations.
- Proficiency in audit infrastructure tools such as Nessus, ACAS, and Nexpose.
- Knowledge of configuration management and audit assessment processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams.
- Experience implementing and supporting security frameworks (NIST 800-53, DISA, CIS, HITRUST, PCI) in a large enterprise environment.
- Familiarity with enterprise audits (SOC2, FISMA, MAC ARS, DOD).
- Experience working with internal and external auditors.
- Related bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent work experience.
