Systems Engineer
ARC Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to join our dedicated technical team. This is a remote, contract position with business hours based on the Eastern Time Zone and offers an exciting opportunity for candidates who possess a strong background in network engineering and infrastructure management. As a Systems Engineer, your core responsibilities will include the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of technology platforms and infrastructure. You will provide technical support and troubleshooting for complex issues, as well as develop and implement scripts or programming solutions to support automation and system efficiency. This role requires significant hands-on experience with both Windows and Linux environments, strong technical acumen, and the ability to work independently on a variety of projects. You will also be expected to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to ensure continuous system reliability.

Systems Engineer - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor, install, configure, administer, and maintain technology solutions and infrastructure.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software systems.
- Develop, implement, and maintain scripts and automation processes using languages such as PowerShell, Java, or Python.
- Administer and manage Fortinet FortiProxy proxy servers or similar security solutions, including PCAP analysis and policy trace interpretation.
- Support system operations in both Windows and Linux environments.
- Contribute to large-scale system implementations and technical solution deployments.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to ensure ongoing system reliability and support.
- Communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrate leadership by sharing knowledge, resolving conflicts, and facilitating open discussions within the team.
- Adapt quickly to changing technologies and business needs.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent work experience.
- At least seven years of experience administering Fortinet FortiProxy proxy servers or equivalent, including hands-on skills with PCAPs and policy traces.
- Demonstrated proficiency in infrastructure software design, implementation, monitoring, and troubleshooting (minimum five years).
- Strong experience in both Windows and Linux platforms.
- Proficient in scripting/programming for automation and audits (PowerShell, Java, Python, or similar).
- Experience in large-scale system implementations and technical solution management.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities aligned with organizational objectives.
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Permanent US work authorization required.
- Willingness to support systems as part of a rotating on-call schedule.
