As a Systems Engineer, you will be instrumental in the planning and execution of system-of-systems architecture, ensuring seamless integration across hardware, software, and operational domains. Your responsibilities will include leading MBSE efforts, managing stakeholder requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant systems. This full-time position is designed for professionals with a strong background in systems engineering, particularly those who are experienced with SysML, DoDAF views, and requirements management tools such as DOORS-NG.

Systems Engineer (SE) - Summary
- Play a key role in a flagship airborne networking program, supporting the delivery of decision-quality data for mission-critical defense initiatives.
- Lead requirements, architecture, and MBSE efforts across hardware, software, and operations, ensuring the technical integrity of system-of-systems solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, test teams, and leadership to drive successful project outcomes and continuous process improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Architect and model complex system-of-systems using SysML and CAMEO modeling tools, ensuring alignment with DoDAF architecture views.
- Elicit, analyze, and manage stakeholder needs in the DOORS-NG database, maintaining the technical baseline throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead integration initiatives, identifying and resolving cross-domain and interface issues to ensure seamless system functionality.
- Partner with test teams to develop and maintain the Verification Cross-Reference Matrix (VCRM), supporting robust system verification and validation.
- Maintain the technical risk register and provide regular briefings to senior leadership on risk mitigation strategies and project status.
- Mentor and guide mid-level engineers on MBSE best practices, Agile/SAFe methodologies, and collaborative engineering workflows.

Qualifications & Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance are required.
- High School Diploma with at least 15 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with SysML modeling tools and requirements databases such as DOORS-NG.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary design reviews and maintaining technical baselines.
- Thorough understanding of MIL-STD avionics power, data links, SATCOM, and RMF/IA compliance requirements.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse technical teams.
Ideal Candidate Snapshot
- INCOSE CSEP / ESEP or DAU ENG/SAE Level III certification is highly desirable.
- Background in ABMS, CJADC2, or open-architecture airborne networking initiatives.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and automated model validation processes.
- Experience briefing senior executive audiences and contributing to acquisition strategy documents.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and mentoring others in MBSE and Agile/SAFe best practices.
