Surgical Technologist – CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) Certified Surgical Tech Summary
- Support cardiovascular surgical teams during complex open heart and vascular surgeries

Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields for cardiovascular surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available and properly sterilized
- Assist surgeons during complex CVOR cases, including open heart and vascular surgeries
- Anticipate the requirements of the surgical team and proactively provide needed instruments and materials
- Handle, organize, and pass surgical instruments and supplies with precision and efficiency
- Operate, maintain, and assist with advanced surgical equipment and specialized cardiovascular technology
- Ensure meticulous sterilization and setup of all instruments and equipment before, during, and after procedures
- Maintain strict compliance with infection control, patient safety, and quality assurance standards throughout the surgical process
- Participate in preoperative setup, including equipment checks and supply preparation, as well as postoperative cleanup and inventory management
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other healthcare professionals to promote a safe and efficient operating room environment

Qualifications & Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) – CVOR certification highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in cardiovascular operating room procedures or related surgical specialties
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and advanced cardiovascular equipment
- Ability to remain focused, organized, and responsive in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse healthcare teams
