Surgical Technologist (CST) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments and supplies are available and ready
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies during surgery, while anticipating the needs of the surgical team
- Perform thorough counts of sponges, needles, and instruments according to facility protocol to ensure patient safety
- Clean, sterilize, and handle surgical equipment according to safety and infection control standards
- Adhere to all regulatory and facility policies regarding patient safety and infection prevention
- Participate in the operating room call rotation, responding promptly to call-back assignments as required
- Work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists to provide high-quality surgical care

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Previous experience as a surgical technologist or OR scrub tech required
- Demonstrated reliability and ability to work a consistent mid-shift schedule
- Willingness and ability to participate in mandatory on-call and call-back rotations
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterile technique
