As a Surgical Technologist (CST), you will be an integral part of the surgical team, performing essential duties before, during, and after surgical procedures. This includes maintaining sterile fields, managing surgical instruments, and supporting the surgical team to facilitate optimal patient outcomes. Surgical Technologist (CST) – Summary
- Support the surgical team by performing technical duties and ensuring a sterile environment during operative procedures.
- Participate in the preparation, execution, and conclusion of surgical operations, with a focus on patient safety and procedure accuracy.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Comply with organizational policies, reliability, and attendance standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sterile core area techniques, operating room procedures, and equipment.
- Participate actively in unit quality assurance programs and maintain a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Utilize effective professional communication techniques, collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver the best patient care.
- Safeguard patient and organizational records in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Communicate information clearly to ensure continuity of care for patients and their families.
- Prepare operating rooms, including setting up supplies and surgical instruments based on the specific procedure.
- Apply principles of aseptic technique and monitor sterile fields throughout procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and perform essential intraoperative technical tasks to support patient safety.
- Assist with patient positioning, equipment checks, and the reprocessing of surgical instruments.
- Initiate and facilitate room turnovers, including light housekeeping, restocking supplies, and ensuring equipment readiness for subsequent cases.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations in the operating room.
- Attend job-related in-services, staff meetings, and remain informed about new practices and protocols.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology required.
- Current Surgical Technologist Certificate (CST) at time of hire required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, operating room procedures, and surgical equipment.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain discipline, and follow instructions accurately.
- Permanent U.S. work authorization required; no C2C or third-party candidates considered.

- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a respectful and collaborative approach.
- Exhibits flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive attitude in dynamic clinical environments.
- Possesses two (2) to five (5) years of scrubbing experience in inpatient or ambulatory operating room settings (preferred but not required).
- Experience with cleaning and reprocessing instruments, stocking supplies, and picking case carts is beneficial.
