Surgical Scheduler - Summary
- Coordinate all scheduling aspects for surgical procedures, including pre-op and post-op appointments.
- Serve as the main contact for patients and medical teams throughout the scheduling process.
- Ensure timely and accurate verification of insurance and surgery authorizations.
- Maintain and update patient records, including demographic and insurance information.
- Collaborate closely with billing teams to support audits and accurate reporting.
- Provide concierge-level support to patients, promptly addressing inquiries and concerns.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule all surgical and procedural appointments in collaboration with physicians and clinical staff.
- Verify insurance coverage, secure authorizations, and communicate scheduling details to patients and providers.
- Update electronic health records with demographic and insurance data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and review patient charts prior to procedures, confirming all required information is present.
- Act as the liaison between patients, physicians, and departments to facilitate clear communication.
- Collaborate with the billing department to support audits, ensure proper documentation, and facilitate charge submissions.
- Provide comprehensive support to patients, including addressing scheduling conflicts and resolving administrative issues.
- Manage physician correspondence and handle referral work queues efficiently.
