Surgical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - Summary
- Full-time clinical role supporting surgical oncology patients

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist attending physicians with a variety of patient care activities, including daily inpatient rounds, outpatient follow-ups, and consults
- Provide procedural support and act as first assist in the operating room as needed
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with surgeons
- Order and interpret diagnostic laboratory and radiological tests/procedures
- Perform comprehensive perioperative assessments and customize discharge plans
- Conduct cancer surveillance visits and obtain accurate medical histories
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, and other care providers
- Facilitate patient referrals to health agencies and community resources
- Ensure accurate, timely completion of medical documentation in compliance with policy

Qualifications & Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification or Physician Assistant (PA) degree
- Active Georgia RN and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licenses, or Physician Assistant license as appropriate
- Minimum 3 years of Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience
- Preferred: At least 2 years of surgical experience
- DEA registration within 2 months of hire
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications
- Optional: ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) and AOCNP (Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner) certifications
