Supplier Program Manager
Invariant Corporation is searching for an experienced Supplier Program Manager to oversee and drive subcontractor and supplier performance for a key defense development contract. As an integral part of the program management team, the Supplier Program Manager ensures that all supplier and subcontractor activities align with project goals, contractual obligations, and delivery schedules. This role is vital for maintaining seamless execution and risk management throughout the supply chain, supporting complex Department of Defense (DoD) weapons development initiatives.
This Supplier Program Manager position requires proven expertise in managing supplier and subcontractor performance, particularly within the aerospace or defense sector. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact between program leadership and external vendors, ensuring on-time delivery of critical components, compliance with rigorous contract requirements, and proactive risk identification and mitigation. The ability to work cross-functionally with contracts, procurement, engineering, quality, and leadership teams is essential for success in this role.
As a Supplier Program Manager, you will be responsible for leading supplier execution activities and overseeing all phases of subcontractor involvement, from initial formation and change management through delivery and final acceptance. Supplier Program Manager - Summary
- Lead supplier and subcontractor execution for defense development programs
- Act as the liaison between program management and suppliers
- Oversee supplier schedules, deliverables, and contractual obligations

Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct supplier and subcontractor activities in support of weapons development projects
- Coordinate with contracts, procurement, engineering, quality, and leadership teams for supplier alignment
- Monitor and manage supplier technical, cost, and schedule performance
- Lead supplier status and performance reviews, including issue-resolution meetings
- Track action items, open risks, nonconformances, and recovery initiatives
- Ensure all supplier deliverables are received, reviewed, and dispositioned according to schedule and contract requirements
- Support formation and administration of subcontracts, including change management
- Assess supplier capacity and readiness for development and production activities
- Communicate supplier risks, dependencies, and performance trends to leadership
- Drive accountability for contractually compliant subcontractor execution

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or a related field
- Active Secret Security Clearance required
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship (for security clearance eligibility)
- Demonstrated experience managing subcontractor or supplier performance in defense or aerospace programs
- Strong knowledge of supplier oversight, subcontract execution, and contractual deliverables
- Experience with SDRLs, CDRLs, and schedule-driven supplier management
- Ability to coordinate across multiple functions including contracts, procurement, engineering, quality, and manufacturing
- Experience leading supplier reviews and corrective action processes
- Proficiency in managing technically complex suppliers and subcontracted content
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive and customer reporting
- Familiarity with FAR/DFARS-based contracting environments
Ideal Candidate Snapshot
- Experienced in subcontract management, supplier performance, contracts administration, or supply chain program management
- Background in weapons, missile, energetics, defense electronics, UAS, or similar defense hardware programs
- Skilled in source selection support, subcontract negotiations, and supplier monitoring
- Knowledge of quality escapes, nonconformance handling, and acceptance processes
- Expertise in production readiness, material planning, and long-lead procurement
- Experience in rapid development or urgent acquisition environments
- Current security clearance preferred

- Work environment includes sitting for extended periods, attending meetings, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use stairs across multiple buildings as required during travel or at company facilities
