Structural Drafter - Summary
As a Structural Drafter, you will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and plans for various building types, including commercial, residential, healthcare, and institutional projects. Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive structural drawings and plans using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD/BIM platforms, under the direction of structural engineers.
- Draft detailed construction documents, including foundations, framing, floor plans, sections, and construction details, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Revise and update technical drawings based on markups, feedback, and design modifications provided by engineers and project managers.
- Assist with three-dimensional (3D) modeling of structural systems to support coordination, visualization, and clash detection during the design process.
- Conduct quality control reviews of all drawings to confirm compliance with company standards, project specifications, and applicable building codes.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, and fellow drafters to facilitate multidisciplinary coordination and resolve design challenges.
- Organize and maintain accurate documentation and version control for all project drawings and related files throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate’s degree or technical diploma in drafting, design technology, or a closely related field required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in structural drafting, ideally within an architectural or engineering firm environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit; hands-on experience with BIM workflows is highly valued.
- Familiarity with structural systems such as steel, concrete, wood, and masonry, as well as the ability to interpret complex architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate documentation.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Experience with additional tools such as Bluebeam, Navisworks, or similar coordination software is a plus.
- Knowledge of local building codes and construction standards is beneficial.
- Exposure to projects across various sectors, including commercial, healthcare, residential, or institutional, is desirable.
