Stem Cell Transplant Registered Nurse (RN, ONS, BMTCN) - Summary
- Deliver expert nursing care to patients undergoing stem cell, bone marrow, or immune effector cell transplants in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure best patient outcomes in oncology and cellular therapy.
- Lead, mentor, and guide patient care team members through effective delegation and clinical judgment.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in malignant hematology, stem cell transplantation, and related cellular therapies.
- Advocate for and protect the dignity, rights, and privacy of every patient.
- Strictly adhere to infection control policies, including hand hygiene, aseptic techniques, and isolation protocols to safeguard vulnerable patient populations.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate documentation of all nursing care, implants, and specimens.
- Educate and empower patients and their support persons regarding transplant processes, post-transplant care, and symptom management.
- Mentor and support patient care technicians and other healthcare team members to promote a collaborative and effective care environment.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in Cellular Therapy, Stem Cell Transplant, or Immune Effector Cell therapy (or qualified equivalent).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; candidates must be enrolled within 6 months of hire and complete within 3 years if not already obtained.
- Active RN license in Georgia or a Compact State License.
- Certifications required:
- BLS (AHA-approved) upon hire or within 30 days if current certification does not meet guidelines.
- ACLS (AHA-approved) within 30 days of hire, required before providing independent ACLS-level care.
- ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate required upon hire (BMTCN or previous ONS equivalent may exempt this requirement).
