SQL Database Administrator (DBA) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer, manage, and maintain multiple SQL Server databases in production environments to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implement and execute robust backup and recovery strategies, minimizing data loss and downtime.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to support database-related initiatives, including deployment and troubleshooting of database code, scripts, and stored procedures.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance through tuning and proactive resource management.
- Provide administrative support within Azure, including building and managing database clusters, configuring security settings, and supporting cloud migration projects.
- Maintain, review, and improve database security protocols, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards, including Active Directory (AD) integration.
- Document database environments, standard operating procedures, and maintenance activities for knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to database incidents as required by the business.

Qualifications & Requirements
- 5-7 years of proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator (DBA) in a production environment, with a strong track record of managing large-scale SQL Server databases.
- Extensive experience with Windows and Azure operating systems, including administrative responsibilities in cloud environments.
- Proficiency in building, configuring, and managing AlwaysOn availability groups and database clusters.
- Demonstrated expertise in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimizing SQL Server environments.
- Strong understanding of security principles, particularly with Active Directory (AD) integration and best practices.
