Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results.
- Deliver therapy sessions targeting speech articulation, language comprehension and expression, voice quality, fluency, and pragmatic skills.
- Administer standardized tests and assessments to monitor patient progress and adjust interventions as needed.
- Maintain detailed, accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on techniques and strategies to enhance communication and swallowing skills.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals including occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, and physicians to ensure comprehensive care plans.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to patients throughout the treatment process.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in FL.
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or current SLP license.
- Preferred experience in acute care or skilled nursing settings.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, case management, and patient care practices.
- Familiarity with geriatric therapy techniques and interventions for older adults.
- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology related to speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Proficiency in patient assessment, treatment planning, and outcome measurement.
