Special Education Teacher (SPED) - Summary
The Special Education Teacher (SPED) is responsible for providing individualized and small-group instruction to students with special needs, supporting inclusive teaching practices, and collaborating with colleagues and families. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of instructional accommodations and modifications, as well as excellent communication and organization skills. This full-time position is designed for educators who are passionate about creating an inclusive and effective learning environment for all students.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction tailored to meet the unique learning needs of each student.
- Support and implement inclusive practices across various grade levels, ensuring access to the general education curriculum.
- Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and adjust instructional strategies as needed based on data and observations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date IEP documentation and progress records in compliance with district and state requirements.
- Communicate effectively and consistently with parents, guardians, and colleagues to foster collaboration and support student achievement.
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development sessions, and staff meetings as required.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and school administrators to ensure an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Implement instructional accommodations and modifications as outlined in students’ IEPs to promote academic success.
- Utilize evidence-based teaching techniques and resources to maximize student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and positive classroom climate conducive to learning for all students.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Active and valid Texas Special Education (SPED) certification.
