Special Education Teacher (SPED) - Summary
- Full-time role supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities in inclusive and pull-out classroom settings
- Develops and implements individualized learning plans in accordance with IEP requirements
- Works collaboratively with general education staff, families, and support personnel
- Employs differentiated instructional techniques and behavioral management strategies
- Monitors, documents, and reports on student progress and outcomes
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet each student’s needs and goals
- Assess student abilities and adapt instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles
- Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, specialists, and support staff to deliver a cohesive educational experience
- Provide direct instructional support and behavioral interventions, both one-on-one and in small group settings
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, attendance, and behavioral data
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings to communicate student progress and advocate for student needs
- Integrate assistive technology and adaptive materials as appropriate
- Foster a safe, positive, and respectful classroom environment

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid or eligible New Hampshire teaching certification in Special Education
- Demonstrated knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and instructional strategies
- Previous school-based experience is preferred but not required
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
