Sous Chef - Summary
- Lead and support kitchen operations as a key member of the culinary leadership team.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop, refine, and execute menu items.
- Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure smooth day-to-day kitchen functions and foster a positive team environment.
- Contribute to ongoing staff training, development, and performance improvement.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Monitor and direct kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to culinary standards.
- Implement and maintain strict food safety and sanitation protocols throughout the kitchen.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and management to manage food costs, inventory, and minimize waste.
- Conduct regular quality control checks, including food storage, handling, and cleanliness inspections.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on culinary techniques, recipe adherence, and plating presentations.
- Encourage teamwork, creativity, and a passion for culinary innovation among all kitchen staff.
- Assist with scheduling and staff management to ensure full kitchen coverage during peak hours.
- Maintain open communication with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless guest experiences.
