As a Slitter Operator, you will operate specialized machinery designed to cut large rolls of material into smaller, precise sizes as required by customer orders. Slitter Operator - Summary
- Responsible for converting master rolls into customer-specified sizes using slitting machinery.
- Operates and maintains slitting equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Works collaboratively with other production staff to meet daily goals.
- Maintains accurate records and ensures proper labeling and packaging of finished rolls.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow all plant safety rules and standards, maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
- Keep work areas clean and organized, adhering to good housekeeping practices.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all company policies.
- Load payoff machines using overhead hoists and manually thread material through slitting machines.
- Input production data into shop floor computers and verify that labels correspond to the correct rolls.
- Select, clean, and install spacers and knives on machine shafts as required for each job.
- Thread sheeting through the slitter, ensuring correct dimensions according to specifications.
- Secure slit strips on cores, adjust guides and roller tension, and operate scrap winders.
- Monitor slitting and rewinding operations, examining cut strips for defects such as flatness or wrinkles.
- Communicate promptly about scrap, mechanical, or quality issues to supervisors or maintenance.
- Arrange and stack finished rolls according to packaging specifications.
- Meet daily standards for productivity, quality, and scrap reduction.
- Complete and submit required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing facility preferred (at least 2 years is ideal).
- Prior forklift experience is beneficial but not required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs. repetitively.
- Demonstrated safety consciousness and attention to detail in a hands-on role.
