The Shipping Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing daily shipping operations to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Shipping Supervisor - Summary
- Oversees shipping operations and team leadership in a warehouse or distribution center setting
- Coordinates with carriers including USPS, FedEx, and UPS for outbound shipments
- Ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and shipping regulations
- Utilizes SAP or similar ERP systems for tracking and documentation
- Operates standup forklifts and electric pallet jacks as needed
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of 10-15 shipping associates, providing direction, training, and performance feedback
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily shipping activities to meet company and customer requirements
- Prepare, verify, and process shipping documents using SAP or similar software
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of material handling equipment, including standup forklifts and electric pallet jacks
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve shipping issues and improve workflow
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and carrier transactions
- Conduct regular safety checks and enforce safety protocols among team members
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new shipping staff
- Monitor carrier performance and address any service-related concerns
- Occasionally cover additional shifts as required to support business needs

Qualifications & Requirements
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role; experience does not need to be specific to shipping
- Hands-on experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
- Knowledge of shipping processes and carrier platforms (USPS, FedEx, UPS)
- Ability to operate standup forklifts and electric pallet jacks (certification preferred)
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional coverage of other shifts
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening
- Hazmat certification is a plus, but not required
