As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for a range of duties associated with the movement, inspection, and documentation of materials and products within a manufacturing or warehouse facility. Your primary focus will be on handling glass products, supporting production processes such as cutting, tempering, fabricating, insulating, and laminating. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety. The role involves consistent interaction with production, warehouse, and logistics personnel to ensure that all products are correctly received, stored, and shipped according to established procedures. As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will play an integral part in optimizing the flow of goods and maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy throughout the shipping and receiving process.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Move glass products from tables, furnaces, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates for extended periods each day.
- Transport materials—including glass—between various locations in the facility to maintain efficient production flow.
- Read, interpret, and apply appropriate labels and tags to products for accurate tracking.
- Conduct quality inspections and operate or manually maneuver equipment as required.
- Understand the facility layout to ensure proper product movement and organization.
- Perform a variety of job functions on a rotational basis to support all aspects of shipping and receiving operations.
- Inspect products for abnormalities such as fabrication issues or incorrect logo placement and immediately notify a supervisor of any concerns.
- Utilize a tape measure to verify product dimensions and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all established safety policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate regular, predictable attendance and the ability to reliably complete assigned tasks.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by supervisors or management to support overall facility operations.
