Shipping and Receiving Clerk - Summary
As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the flow of goods into and out of the warehouse. Your duties include verifying the quality of incoming materials, preparing orders for shipment, and ensuring that inventory records are updated accurately in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, such as JD Edwards and warehouse management systems (WMS). This position requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is a critical part of the supply chain, supporting the timely delivery of products to customers both domestically and internationally.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Quality Control teams to verify that incoming goods meet all relevant standards and requirements before they are accepted into inventory.
- Process production orders for work-in-progress (WIP) parts and prepare finished goods for shipping in accordance with company protocols.
- Accurately track inventory and update order statuses using JD Edwards and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Prepare precise shipping documents, including invoices and packing lists, to ensure all shipments are properly documented and compliant with regulations.
- Load trailers efficiently and safely for both domestic and international shipments, ensuring items are secured and protected during transit.
- Follow all Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) procedures to ensure customs compliance for international shipments.
- Perform daily equipment checks and operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed to move goods safely within the warehouse.
- Demonstrate flexibility by being available to work overtime when required, supporting periods of increased shipping or receiving activity.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Experience with JD Edwards and/or other warehouse management systems (WMS) is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping documentation processes, including invoicing and packing lists.
- Knowledge of customs compliance procedures, specifically C-TPAT, is a plus.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks; certification may be required depending on employer policy.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Capacity to work flexible hours, including overtime as necessary.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
