Shipping and Receiving Clerk - Summary
- Manages the receipt and dispatch of goods in a warehouse or distribution center environment
- Ensures timely and accurate handling of all incoming and outgoing shipments
- Maintains inventory records and collaborates with other departments to optimize workflow
- Supports the organization's overall logistics and supply chain processes
Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company and carrier guidelines
- Document and maintain accurate shipping and receiving records in inventory management systems
- Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to schedule pickups and deliveries
- Label and organize inventory to ensure efficient storage and retrieval
- Conduct periodic inventory counts and assist with inventory reconciliation
- Report any discrepancies or damages pertaining to shipments to management
- Comply with all safety and company policies during material handling and warehouse operations
- Assist with general warehouse duties such as stocking, cleaning, and organizing work areas
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as required (if certified)

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics preferred
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members and external partners
- Physical ability to lift and move packages and materials as needed (may require lifting up to 50 lbs.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Forklift certification is a plus but not required
