The Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays an integral role in the warehouse environment, acting as the primary point of contact for managing inbound and outbound goods. Duties & Responsibilities
- Shipping
- Prepare, label, and package outgoing orders according to customer and carrier requirements, including coordination with major carriers such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, and various freight services.
- Generate, review, and manage shipping documentation, including packing lists, bills of lading, and manifests, ensuring all information is accurate and compliant with regulations.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup schedules, tracking shipments, and managing delivery timelines.
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure they meet company and safety standards.
- Receiving
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments, matching goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Document and report any discrepancies, shortages, or damaged items promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Accurately enter received goods into warehouse management systems and direct inventory to the correct storage locations.
- Verify lot numbers, batch records, and expiration dates as required by industry standards.
- Inventory & Documentation
- Maintain precise inventory records, perform cycle counts, and participate in physical inventories as scheduled.
- Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP software, along with scanning equipment, to monitor inventory movements.
- Ensure all shipping and receiving documentation is thorough and stored according to company standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow all warehouse safety guidelines and OSHA regulations to create a secure work environment.
- Keep the warehouse organized, clean, and in compliance with regulatory and quality standards, especially those relevant to nutritional products.
- Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with operations, quality assurance, and logistics teams to ensure seamless workflow.
- Assist with special projects and support other warehouse duties as necessary.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is required; additional coursework or certifications in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management is a plus
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse roles, ideally within a regulated environment such as nutritional, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP software, and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform other physical warehouse duties
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational abilities
- Forklift or material handling certification and OSHA safety training are preferred but not required
