We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sheet Metal Superintendent to join our team on a full-time basis in San Antonio, TX. The Sheet Metal Superintendent will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful completion of sheet metal and pipefitting projects, ensuring that all work meets the highest industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the installation and completion of industrial and commercial sheet metal systems, from small-scale projects to complex, multi-system undertakings.
- Oversee all aspects of on-site work, ensuring compliance with project specifications, blueprints, and relevant building codes.
- Administer and support the company’s safety program, promoting a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment for all employees.
- Demonstrate best practices and proper work methods to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Ensure availability of all necessary materials, tools, blueprints, and resources to maintain project momentum and prevent delays.
- Collaborate with supervisors and project managers to resolve work-related issues and obtain critical information or decisions as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company procedures, policies, and technical directives, and provide guidance to team members on their application.
- Allocate work tasks effectively to ensure all crew members remain productive and engaged throughout each phase of the project.
- Monitor ongoing work, perform quality checks, and verify that all tasks align with supervisory instructions, project timelines, and procedural requirements.
- Lead and motivate teams, ensuring that all workers follow instructions precisely and meet established deadlines.
- Promote and enforce safety and housekeeping standards consistently across all job sites.
- Provide regular project status updates and reports to superintendents and project managers, including explanations for any delays or challenges encountered.
- Serve as a primary resource for supervisors, answering questions about project operations, team performance, and technical issues.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of verifiable experience in the sheet metal trade, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Comprehensive understanding of piping blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints for sheet metal and other major construction crafts.
- Thorough knowledge of all sheet metal and piping systems relevant to industrial and commercial applications.
- Exceptional communication skills, with an ability to interact professionally with both team members and clients.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise multiple foremen and coordinate the efforts of large, diverse teams.
- Strong organizational skills, with proven experience in project scheduling and deadline management.
- Residence in or near San Antonio, TX, to ensure timely access to job sites and effective team leadership.
