Sheet Metal Estimator - Summary- Full-time position focused on cost estimation for sheet metal projects within the mechanical contracting industry.
- Located in Dallas, TX, with occasional site visits and client meetings.
- Reports to the Senior Estimator or Estimating Manager.
- Key contributor to project planning, cost analysis, and bid preparation.
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to develop accurate cost estimates for sheet metal works.
- Conduct material takeoffs to determine quantities and requirements.
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs for competitive bidding.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate quotes.
- Prepare and submit detailed bid proposals, ensuring all documentation is complete.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other teams to develop comprehensive project schedules and plans.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative solutions through value engineering.
