Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive leadership and direction throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring business objectives and profitability targets are met.
- Actively participate in the negotiation of owner contracts, establishing a strong foundation for project success.
- Develop project budgets while considering unique project challenges and profitability goals.
- Recruit, assign, and mentor project management staff, ensuring alignment of skills with project complexity and scope.
- Manage all project resources from initiation through closeout, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and client requirements.
- Oversee high-level project performance, including cost management, risk mitigation, and progress tracking.
- Transition day-to-day project operations effectively to team members, including Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Superintendents.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, architects, government authorities, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Engage in project acquisition activities by understanding client needs and demonstrating organizational capabilities to secure new business.
- Review projects for potential challenges impacting budget and profitability, utilizing industry-standard evaluation methods.
- Collaborate with Project Executives to assign appropriate staff and oversee pre-mobilization activities during project start-up.
- Ensure smooth transition between preconstruction and operations teams through effective turnover meetings.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of all project staff, providing regular site presence and visibility to resolve challenges and ensure project milestones are met.
- Forecast project performance and proactively address issues to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Attend and manage meetings with clients and project stakeholders, maintaining open communication and a strong client service orientation.
- Ensure all staff adhere to organizational standards and receive appropriate training and mentorship.
- Recruit, coach, and develop talent to build high-performing project teams aligned with the organization's values and standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in construction management or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive construction management experience, preferably in commercial construction.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing projects with significant complexity, size, and sector-specific requirements.
- Relevant experience in multi-family residential projects, particularly workforce housing, LIHTC, HUD, or garden-style apartments is highly desired.
- Additional experience in sectors such as industrial, office, education, retail, aviation, medical, federal/municipal, hotel/timeshare, hospitality/casino, sports/recreation, parking structures, or tenant improvement/renovations is advantageous.
