Key Responsibilities
- Represent the company in a professional manner, supporting strategic initiatives and fostering positive relationships with clients, business partners, and internal teams.
- Lead and participate in staff meetings, project reviews, design reviews, and task force meetings to keep projects on track and aligned with company goals.
- Oversee contract administration, including reviewing, negotiating, and managing subcontractor and material contracts.
- Identify and develop mitigation plans for all types of project risks, and implement effective strategies for pricing and distributing risks across the project team.
- Monitor team performance, ensuring the right personnel are in critical roles and providing mentorship and training to support employee development.
- Establish project priorities, set goals, and execute plans to achieve organizational objectives.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety programs, promoting a culture of safety and compliance at all times.
- Lead preconstruction efforts, working closely with superintendents, estimators, and project teams to plan all aspects of the project prior to mobilization and throughout the construction process.
- Manage project budgets, construction costs, change management processes, and financial reporting to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Coordinate effective schedule management with superintendents and project teams to establish and achieve key project milestones.
- Implement and lead quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) programs to maintain high standards throughout all project phases.
- Complete closeout procedures efficiently, ensuring all project documentation is properly archived.
- Resolve disputes and claims proactively to achieve timely and fair outcomes.
- Actively participate in business and industry associations to enhance company brand visibility and generate new business opportunities.
- Travel to jobsites, meetings, and client locations within Colorado Springs, CO, as needed to support project delivery and client relationships.
- Adhere to all company alcohol and drug use policies, especially in this safety-sensitive position.
- Maintain predictable, in-person attendance at assigned locations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in commercial construction, including large-scale projects ranging from $40 million to $100 million in sectors such as K-12, higher education, healthcare, and general commercial construction.
- Proficiency with CMiC, Procore, and Bluebeam software.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft products, including Navisworks, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Strong leadership skills, with a proven record of mentoring and developing project teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, including experience delivering proposal presentations to potential clients.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, contracts, and risk in a fast-paced environment.
