Senior Electrical Engineer PE - Summary
- Serve as a lead electrical engineer in the design and implementation of power and low voltage systems for commercial, healthcare, and institutional projects.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-design and site analysis, including field surveys, technical data gathering, and reporting.
- Develop schematic designs, create single-line and riser diagrams, and produce circuit layouts.
- Perform detailed calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow) using ETAP or SKM.
- Select appropriate lighting fixtures and power equipment; design and coordinate lighting control systems.
- Develop fire alarm layouts in accordance with NFPA 72 and International Fire Code; design fire alarm risers and sequence of operations.
- Produce comprehensive construction documents, including plans, elevations, schedules, and diagrams.
- Ensure all designs meet CAD/BIM standards and comply with California Electrical Code and Title 24 Energy Standards.
- Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural teams for integrated project delivery.
- Manage multiple large-scale projects, overseeing internal and external team coordination.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
- Lead project proposals, contribute to client development, and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Actively participate in construction administration, reviewing RFIs, submittals, and conducting field inspections.
- Ensure project execution aligns with design intent and regulatory codes throughout construction phases.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license — required for this role.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional electrical engineering experience, with preference for candidates who have worked on commercial, healthcare, or institutional projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead design teams and manage complex engineering projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP or SKM, and Revit software.
- Familiarity with HCAI standards (Healthcare Access and Information) is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and ability to manage concurrent deadlines.
