Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) - Summary
- Lead electrical engineering design and analysis for power and low voltage systems across commercial, healthcare, and institutional projects.
- Mentor and guide engineering teams, ensuring adherence to industry codes and standards.
- Oversee project management activities, technical execution, and client communications.
- Support the growth and development of the organization’s electrical engineering capabilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-design and site analysis through field surveys and technical assessments.
- Develop detailed site assessment reports and schematic designs for new projects.
- Create single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, and circuit layouts using industry-standard tools.
- Perform comprehensive electrical calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow) utilizing ETAP or SKM.
- Select appropriate lighting fixtures, power equipment, and design lighting/power circuiting including lighting control systems.
- Design fire alarm layouts and risers in compliance with NFPA 72 and International Fire Code, including system calculations and sequence of operations.
- Produce detailed construction documents, including plans, elevations, schedules, and diagrams, applying CAD/BIM standards.
- Ensure all designs comply with California Electrical Code and Title 24 Energy Standards.
- Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural teams to integrate electrical systems smoothly.
- Manage multiple large-scale projects, providing leadership and coordination with internal/external stakeholders.
- Provide technical mentorship, lead project proposals, and contribute to business development efforts.
- Maintain and build client relationships, actively pursuing new opportunities.
- Administer construction phases by reviewing RFIs, submittals, conducting field inspections, and ensuring design intent is maintained.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- At least 10 years of professional electrical engineering experience, with a focus on commercial, healthcare, or institutional projects.
- Demonstrated success in leading design teams and managing engineering projects.
- Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD, ETAP or SKM, and Revit.
- Familiarity with Healthcare Access and Information (HCAI) standards is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, technical communication, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
